Hi all,
I was thinking about some of the strange dreams I've had, and I was talking to someone on msn messenger whohas had strange dreams. I'm not sure dreams mean anything in this day and age, but find it a bit interesting, the strange dreams we can have, for which there is no logic. I once had a dream that I was driving a car. There were no other cars on the road, and I wasn't going left or right, but straight ahead. There were no stop signs or stop lights as far as I know, but if there were, I couldn't have seen them anyway, lol, so I think I just took it for granted they weren't there. It didn't even enter my mind, that they might be there. I was just pumping that gas peddle up and down, and turning the steering wheel from left to right. That was undoubtedly the strangeest, nonsensical dream I've ever had, heehee.

Hi. I've had some weird dreams. Most of the times, my dreams involve people or places I know personally, and although, I've been totally blind since age 13, I still see in them (even though I'm sure I don't remember or mostly even know what the people and places really look like. But the weird thing about them is that the people and places change from what they are in real life. For example, a lot of my dreams have me working in or visiting a Special Ed. class. They are always familiar to me, but yet the building, or what I normally expect to go on in the classes, change. Like I know for sure I'm in a certain place, but there might be rooms that aren't there in real life, or there might be regular class desks when I know they're really wouldn't be in a specific classroom.
As for the people, they are usually people I've met or spent time in real life, but in the dreams, they are different from what their situations really are. Like in one dream, a guy I know who is almost nonverbal, talked to me, and in others, I know some people who are in wheelchairs and who are multihandicapped, but in the dreams they are sitting or standing, and I've heard one of them laughing and talking with friends around his age. I hoped to go into specific dreams here, but when I'd finished typing everything last time, the darn thing kicked me off the Internet, and I'd lost my original post. *frowns* But anyways, yeah so I think my dreams are pretty strange. Also, I'm usually not thinking of the people and places I dream about, well probably not consciously I guess. And I very rarely try to change my dreams mentally. The only times I do are when I'm in physical danger, so the way my dreams are are just how they happen. So, this is a very interesting topic! *smiles*
Leilani
Hi leloni,
Well, the dreams seems vague now, as far as what people are like, but I've always been blind in them, as I am in waking, but I think that's because I was born blind. AAlthough I can't walk on my own without a walker, or holding on to something, I have walked in my dreams, without having to hold on to something. I got disconnected as soon as I logged in, and it makes me want to scream at my isp.
I'm on here early, because we got 2 phone calls from somebody wanting us to take this or that, first it was a t and t, then belle south, and I decided i'd rather be on the internet, rather than put up with those calls. I find I can talk to people on the computer better than I can with people I know, except for my mom.
wonderwoman
I just love typing up the phone line, so certain folks can't call, heehee. Anyway, once when I was 4 years old, I dreamed this dog was chasing me, and I was running very fast to try and get away from him. The dream always ended, with me running in to a wall, and I'd try to go back the way I came, only to find a wall on both sides, and the dog would come up, clamp his teeth down on my finger, and I'd be trying to get my hand loose. That's always the way the dream ended. I was really afraid of dogs when I was a child.
wonderwoman
Then I was at a camp once for the handicapped, and we had this counselor I didn't like, and I dreamed one of the other counselors, someone I liked, turned me in to a cat, and the counselor I didn't like in to a mouse, and well, we know what cats do to mice if they catch them. I was just about to pounce on her when I woke up. It may be mean, but I woke up thinking it was funny. someone asked me what I was grinning about, and when I told her, she didn't say anything, neither did anyone else. It may've been a weird awful dream, but I got a kick out of it.
wonderwoman
Well, I have definitely had some weird dreams. And half the time they involve my best friend, and he tries to kill me. Lol its really messed up. Other times they have to do with other people important to me, I had this one dream one time about my dead grandfather where this spirit of a fox could communicate with him, and then the fox gave me a bunch of chickens. It didn't make any sense.
Then there was the time i had a dream about being in somebody's house that i didnt know and I jumped in a toilet and my mom was like, "Get outta there!" I dont think i ever had a dream that made even a little bit of logical sense.
I"m not even going to go into my dreams lol! My most strange ones were the one where I was holding a mechanical crow that was cawing at me, and the other was when I dreampt that one of my very best friends was brutally murdered in a foreign country, and I woke up shaking.
Caitlin
wow, I'm not the only one who has strange dreams. I had a strange dream about someone who was a friend of mine. Her mom and my mom knew each other ever since they were teens, and they're in their late 60's now, well my moms' friend is in her early 70's. Anyway, I was at one of the camps I use to go to, and she was there. I was telling her about some of the other girls in the cabin, and I was going to introduce her. I took her hand, and when I did, she just vanished. I don't mean she turned and walked away, I mean one second I was holding on to her hand, the next, I wasn't holding to anything. I was just standing there feeling confused, when I woke up.
wonderwoman
Lol. I have so many weird dreams. I have like two weird dreams a week, and I've forgotten most all of them. One I used to have quite frequently was where a balloon with thick ropes at the bottom would pick me up off my bed and fly me to the ceiling. THen it would drop me and I'd wake up, feeling as though I'd dropped onto my bed. It was very weird. Another one was I would walk up and down a staircase that was riding aroudn and aroudn like a merry-go-round. THen it would stop and I would be in a place I somehow knew was called Candy Land, where they ahd all those candy buckets and despencers wwhere you collect your candy in little baggies. It was so weird!
Caitlinn
P.S. Wonderwoman, that dream of yous is kind of freaky!
I know. I sure hope dreams don't mean anything today, I'd hate to think what meaning that dream could have. The dreams I liked were the floating ones. I'd raise my arms, and I'd just float around. i'd move my arms forward, and I'd float forward, move my arms back, and I'd float backwards, I loved it. I use to have that dream often when I was a child, mostly when I was in the orthopaedic hospital where I had my leg operations. When I finally stopped having the dream, I felt depressed and let down, I loved that feeling in the dream, and looked forward to it.
wonderwoman
wow this is an interesting topic! Lets see, where to start. I am the queen of messed up dreams. Problem is, some of mine actually happen in real life! Anyway my weirdest dream is the one tuat I use to have when I was little. I use to have this re occuring dream that I would be struck by lightening. I think that sorta is part of the reason why im afraid of it. I have also had dreams about driving my sled in april with singing pepsi bottles in the back of it with flashing lights on them singing jingle bells. That was super weird. I drempt once that I saw radio man blow up in a nuclear explosion. I've also drempt about my dead relitives, where they talked to me in the dreams. I swear it, I'm not crazy. I just have really vivid dreams. I'm glad I'm not alone though. It's nice to know that others have strange dreams to!
Singing pepsi bottles? That's a new one! I like it! Another dream I had sometimes was that I was zooming over the surface of a pool's water and I was trappedin the deep end, and I couldn't find the side or the shallow end, and I just kept floating around and it was all dark. Thenl ast night I had a dream I was on this raft with some random people, and I was really bored, and then they were like, "Hang on!", and we went down this huge drop, ilike in Splasdh Mountain, only I went flying off the back and into the water in my clothes, and they had to pull me back into the boat! It was very very strange!
Caitlin
When i was with my ex, i would sometimes have dreams where we were laying together near this lake somewhere, and there were always dolphins in the lake, and...um...i think I'll stop there... Another recurring dream i had when i was little was about a creature called Bit Bat Babbit. It always used to jump out from under my bed and yell its name, "Bit Bat Babbit!" I was sometimes scared to go to bed bc i thought it was real and it was gonna come get me.
Oh my, some of those dreams are really strange. It's strange how we have dreams of things we're afraid of. When I use to have the dream about the dog running after me, I hadn't been thinking about dogs before I went to bed. I always use to think you dreamed about whatever you were thinking about before you went to bed, but that's not true, none of the dreams I've had had anything to do with what I was thinking about before I went to bed.
wonderwoman
I've always wondered if recurring dreams meant anything. I wonder if they show anything about your personality, or your thought patterns, or what you feel, or what?
That's a good and interesting question. I've only had the dog dream, and the floating dream over, any of the others I've only had one time. I don't guess we'll ever really know what they mean. A girl at the handicapped camp I went to said we dream to release tention, but not sure I believe that, since I've not been tense before I went to bed.
wonderwoman
I always wondered about recurring dreams. Maybe someday we will find out the answer.
As a teenager I used to have a disturbing recurring dream, about a large deep dark pool,I wanted to dive in but felt afraid of drowing or something that lurked in the pool, later when i began to climb the dream came only every other night and finally not at all...It signified my fear of failure and of doing something thrilling which secretly frightened me.
I had a really weird dream last night again. It was about this little girl who got drowned in a lake or something, but she survived, but then somebody tried to drown her again. Then when I picked up the phone to dial 911 to report it i heard her voice telling me who it was that drowned her and a bunch of other stuff i dont remember, and then when i finally did call for help, this cop showed up, and all she did was sit there and read a newspaper. I have no clue what that was all about. i woke up very confused.
I always have strange dreams. I used to have this reoccurring dream that I was walking to school but didn’t know where it was. Then I would end up in my kindergarten classroom. I don’t recall the teacher or the students I just know it was my Kindergarten classroom and I didn’t know where the door was to leave. Then I used to have this weird dream that I couldn't move. It was the scariest thing ever. I was always somewhere and knew I needed to move but couldn’t; like I was paralyzed or something? Hmmm what else. Oh yeah, probably my most bizarre dream that I remember was me sitting in Moe’s bar (that’s the bar on The Simpsons) talking to Homer Simpson. I don’t remember what he was saying but I seriously woke up laughing.
Last night I had a dream that my English teacher move me into Advanced English, and so I had to switch Biology classes, and I was so mad lol, it was weird.
Caitlin
hmm...this one reoccured maybe twice, and it was freaky in the scary sense when I had it. Well, it was about this weather man and he said "there's going to be tape tonight." then, the tape came. And so it was, like, a blanket with sticky on the bottom side that hung in the sky. And I was in a schoolbus going to school when the weather guy said there would be tape. anyway. So the tape came down to our schoolbus, and it said, "this needs to be thrown!" and then, it latches on to our schoolbus, and then it lifts us up, and it literly throws us, schoolbus and all, up in to the sky. It was very...um...freaky?
Funny, I never had any dreams about teachers or changing classes. Of course, I had most of my schooling taught at home, so there were no real classes, it was just the teacher and me, but I never ha d any dreams about teachers, I don't know why.
wonderwoman
Lol Alison! Aaaa that's freaky! Reminds me of anotehr crazy dream I had...Where i was in an airplane that was tumbling over and over and over! And then I had another one where I was on a mountain, only it was made of just rock, and I was falling down it like a slide, end over end, head over heels. Lol.
Caitlin
Wow, that thing about the tape is weird! That reminds me of this dream i had about a guy who wanted to kill me and my mom, and he left this message on our answering machine, where he was singing this song in this really deep, creepy voice, and then we found out the only way to stop him was to find this egg that was outside, and open it up and get the paper out before it flew away. Yeah it was freaky.
NO freaky dreams last night, sadly. At least, none I can remember. I was sooo tired from organizing my CD collection I guess I didbn't have any, which supports my theory that you dream when you're kind of restless? I don't know ...
Caitlin
Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Apart from all the posts I've read on the zone, these are the funniest ones I've come across so far.
the strangest recurring dream I have is one in which I can take hold of the air and do pullups.
Interesting topic. For me, I tend to have these dreams when people places and things that don't belong together are together. That usually means I haven't been sleeping well, or I'm really stressed about something. (These dreams don't help.) As an example, I had a dream my wife my brother my dad and I were going somewhere in a car. My father died a few years before I met my wife. My wife and brother don't particuarly get along. My father was driving, which he didn't do the last two years of his life. We got stuck somewhere, and I took out my cellphone to call for help. My father died in 1976, long before cellphones wre around. This "reality" seemed normal at the time. When I wake up from this kind of dream, I'm usually trying to figure it out and relate it to current reality.
Lou
Lou
I often have mixed up dreams like that. For example I'll be walking down a hallway that looks like one of the halls in the school for the blind where I attended elementary an djunior high. Then I'll turn a corner or walk into a classroom and be in my high school building or a college building. I also have dreams that mix up different places where I have lived. For example, I might b in the kitchen of the home I grew up in, leave the kitchen and walk into the living room from another home I've lived in, and then go upstairs and be in my current bedroom. Like you, I also have dreams where people and places are out of sequence. I like to remember my dreams and try to analyze them.
I was just rereading this entire thread and thought about some recurring dreams I have had. I must have these dreams when I am feeling very frustrated or helpless about a situation. In the dreams, something is terribly wrong and I am trying to call for help. I'll pick up the phone to dial 911, and there will be people on my phone line or else music playing. I can't get the people to hear me and get off the line so I can make my call, and in the case of music playing, I can't get it to stop. I go to a neighbor and ask to use their phone, but the same thing happens on any phone I try. The whole dream is about me trying to make a phone call. I've also had the dreams about trying to run away from someone or from a dangerous situation, and I can only move in slow motion. Another recurring dream is about crossing a street at the light, falling right in the middle of the intersection, and not being able to get up before the light changes.
Becky, eer thought about selling that to the Twilight Zone writer's? Sounds like a great plot for a movie or something.
Oh come on, Lou, I can't be the only one to have had these types of dreams? Please tell me I'm not crazy? LOL.
bucky eye fan, i don't think crazy dreams mean you're crazy, if they did, I'd be in the loony bin now, hee hee. I think all dreams are crazy, but the one crazy dream i loved was the floating dream. my mom says maybe thefloating dream was God showing me what it would be like when you die and your spirit leaves your body. Someone in the christian record talking magazine was telling how when you die, there is nothing, you're just asleep till the day of judgement comes, and he said, you really wouldn't want to be floating on some cloud somewhere would you? and I said, yeah, i'd love it, and i thought if that's what happens when you leave your body, bring it on!most crazy dreams are terrible, but that was really one of the most wonderful dreams i had. The most terrible one was the one wheresomeone i didn't like had been turned in to a mouse and I'd been turned in to a cat. It was awful and funny at the same time, lol. I was really shocked over that one. You'd think the other person would be the more powerful animal and would be going to do something to me, not the other way round, but oh well, such are dreams,
wonderwoman
Well I believe the types of dreams I have described happen when I am feeling frustrated about something in my life. Because in all those dreams, frustration and a feeling of being helpless are the main themes.
Have any of you ever been awakened suddenly because you thought you heard someone call your name? I'm not sure if this fits under the title of weird dreams, but every once in awhile this happens to me. I'll even yell out, "What?" before I'm fully awake and realize no one has called me.
Becky, that's happend to me. I've hollered at people in my sleep and dreams, and woke myself up that way. I remember one dream I had where my wife, Wendy, told me I had to get up and get ready for a job interview down in Texas. Well, I laid there in bed (still in the dream), and caled a cab. Bed and all were in the cab going to the airport. I began to think this through. I realized I didn't apply for a job in texas. I further realized I wasn't dressed to travel, let alone go on a job interview. Then, I finally got around to asking myself why I was in the cab and in a bed. I screamed: "Dammit Wendy!" I woke myself at that point. she replied "What?" I sheepihsly said, "I'm sorry."
Lou
That's funny Lou. The main reason I now place my alarm clock so far away from my bed so that I have to get out of bed to turn it off is that I used to hit the snooze button and would have my most irritating dreams during that half awake/half asleep state during those 10-minute snooze periods. I would often dream that I was up and dressed and already on the bus on my way to work. Then I would awaken with a jerk and realize I was still in bed and would have to really hurry to get ready on time.
Kinda related to that, I used to sleepwalk when I was younger. I woke up halfway down the basement stairs and scard the hell out of myself.
You and Elvis. I heard he was a sleep walker and that his parents started him on sleeping pills to stop that. Could be that started him on his lifelong problems with drugs.
As a musician, I wuldn't know anything about that. Now, whee's that Peanut butter and nanner sandwich?
Most of my dreams don't even make sense. For example, I once had a dream that I was sleeping, and all of a sudden I realized I had overslept for school. The funny thing was that the alarm on my talking watch had been set for 10:30 AM in that dream. This obviously didn't make sense, because I get up for school much earlier than that.
and here's another strange dream I had last night, about the computer no less. it's the first time i had a dream i could remember in a long time. I always shut the computer down before going to bed. Last night, I dreamed I was here in my room, and I could hear the sound of a computer fan running, like the computer was running, and it was morning, or somewhere there abouts, and i panicked, and thought, oh good grief, what in the world is the computer doing on? I shut it down last night likie I always do, now it's running and has ben all night. When I started pressing keys, the voiceds were totally different, not the eloquence voices, or any other software, but they were totaly human voices. One of the voices was named Dan, and I can't remember what the other voices were. They said aNand did the same things that jaws always does, read menus and things ljike that, but when I went to the desktop, and pressed alt f4 to shut down, the voice I was using said, hmmm. and that's when i woke up. Talked about wild and crazy, lol.
wonderwoman
I have alot of strange dreams involoving all sorts of stuff like about UFO's/Aliens or of me helping to fight in an Intergalatic War against other beings from another world. I really hope I encounter neither that's be nuts but somewhat cool but still.
I also have these dreams about tornadoes sometimes, those kind really creep me out since I live near a railroad and I wake up and here it going off. lol
There are some that strangly allows me to see into the future. I feel as if I can see future events that may or may not occur, only a few have come true so far, but it's been awhile so I can't really recall anything.
hey divine dragon, aren't you glad most dreams don't come true? I ca't figure out why I had that silly dream. They say you usually dream about what you're thinking just before you go to bed, but i swear I wasn't thinking about my computer saying anything back to me, lol. At least your dreams are heroic, mine are just weird. When i got my first computer, for a while I did worry constantly about it crashing, and sure enough I dreamed it did crash. My mom and i were going to do something on it together, and it just sat there and didn't come on and i said something like, i guess it crashed, and mom said, I guess thats what happened to it. and we were just sitting there waiting for it to do something when i woke up. I woke up in shock after the computer said that brierf, hmm, when i shut it down. I hope computers never do that. I'd probably have a heart attack if mine suddenly answered me back.
wonderwoman
hmm well. if you want to talk about weird dreams, just call me. lol. the night of the first day I had my guide dog I dreamed I was happily walking on the street with her and a guy stopped me and said I'm sorry to tell you this, but someone cut off your dog's head while you didn't notice. then I looked at my dog and saw she was headless and started screaming and woke up. then I fell asleep again and dreamed I was sitting on my bed thinking of that dream I just had, and trying to convince myself that it couldn't happen because if someone gets near my dog I would notice, and if someone tries to hurt her she would defend herself for sure...
I often have a dream since last year, the situation is always different, but there is always this woman about 45 or 50, telling me that I have to go there before it's too late. and when I ask her where she just says it's a place very far from here but getting there is easy if you know how... then she always says something like remember, always do what you know you should do, and things need to be seen from a nearer place. or something like that... but I always see her in different places. once at my school, once at the bus stop, another time at my friend's house and so on...
Hi worst,
oh wow, I can't imagine walking down the street with a headless dog, yikes. Dreams just usually don't make any sense at all. I don't take any dream I've had seriously. If i did, I'd go crazy. I thought that dream where i was a cat and one of my camp counselors was a mouse kind of funny. Terrible of me probably, but seeing as she was sort of the bossy type, the in your face kind of bossy, it was interesting, even if only in a dream to be in a position of power over her, lol.
wonderwoman
Another recurring dream I have is of being on a battle field surrounded by a sea of frantic soldiers who are all trying to escape the mouth of a giant head that is flying around in the sky. In my dream I see the giant head darting through the clouds and swooping down to bite off the heads of soldiers. It's so crazy because I can hear screams, I can feel the bodies pushing against me, I can see the battle field as if I were looking at a desert from atop a mountain. And every time, just before I wake up, I see the mouth of the giant closing in on me. In my dream I'm thinking that the giant head is trying to take my body away. I wonder what the interpretation of this dream would be...
wow, it sure would be interesting to find out. I've often wondered what the interpretation of some of my dreams would be, but I think dreams can be interpreted in many ways.
wonderwoman
i have a friend i had a strange dream about. he is blind also. and i dreamed that he came to my house. and got me and took me straite to my ants house. he's never been here before. so i don't know how he knew how to get there. but it was a strange dream i'll always remember
I'll give you an example of one of the strangest dreams I remember having. I had this dream that a favorite band of mine was playing and when my eyes shifted from the singer to the guitar player, the guitar player smiled and the singer disappeared into thin air, so I wanted to find him and knew there was a castle behind me and went inside it. Instead of being a realistic world, it was more like those modern 3D video games. I saw things as if I could turn my whole body around and scan the world like you do with the joystick and the character, and the paths I walked through were like those of a maze. I kept bumping into these big fat nurse type people who were acting as security guards and every time I did, I got more melty and lustful and horny and then I dived through this hole in the floor and entered through the ceiling of another room where I found the singer. He told me his power was weakening and I was the strong one or something and then disappeared again. By this time, my mind was gone and my sister came and took me to her house where I colored and drew pictures with kids much younger than me who had severe disabilities. Through the pictures, I explained what was going on to my sister and she took me back to the castle and there was a note in the singer's handwriting that said, "Learn to live, learn to love, learn to leave." and then I woke up from the dream.
man! strange dream
I had a little bit of a weird dream last night. I dremt I was buying my cousin's house. Now my cousin lives in the old part of a small town a bit north of the city where I live. I used to spend a lot of time there as a child. In my dream the house looked the same from the outside but was decorated differently inside. This is a very, very old house and would cost a lot to keep up, and I would never buy it in real life. Then the next part of my dream I was hanging out with friends and I turned around to face them all and make the announcement that I had just bought a house. When I told them where, the first question out of someone's mouth was how would I get to work. The public bus system does not go to this small town. I stopped dead in my tracks and realized I might have just made a huge mistake in buying this house. Then my alarm went off and it was time to get up and come to work.
<lol So, how did you get to work if the bus doesn't come to your town?
Amethyst Moon, maybe the "time to leave" meant "time to wake up".
Strange dreams all.
I never (hardly ever) remember my dreams, so they could all be really strange as far as I'm concerned.
Bob
I'm pretty sure your dreams would be strange, Bob. LOL
I don't remember my dreams anymore like I use to, but the dream i liked the most is the one I had in th ehospital where i had my leg operations, the one where i was just floating. I didn't really have wings, my arms were my wings, and i could move them all around anyway i wanted to. I had that dream 3 nights in a row, then it stopped and no matter how much i willed it and wanted it back, it never came again.
wonderwoman
Well I have another strange dream. I had 2 dreams in a row, but the first one was sort of vague. In both dreams, I was trying to carry on a conversation with someone who just wasn't talking and all I coulod get was a, yeah, response. the first dream like i said was vague, i was at a camp talking to some camp counselor, and getting the yeah treatment, and I was thinking, man is this guy ever unfriendly. The second dream was pretty fvivid though. I talk to Bruce in ontario quite frequently, and we chat on skype quite a lot, not every single night, but most nights, so thats probably why the dream was about him. My mom took me to sit with him while she went to the store, which is very silly, be ccause he's in Canada and I'm in North Carolina which is thousands of miles apart. also, my mom would never take me to someones house I don't kinow, nor would I go, since I have no desire to meet anyone in person i talk to on the computer, because you don't really know who you're talking to, but thats another story entirely. I also don't need to sit with anyone or have anyone sit with me whihle mom goes to the store. Well, I was looking forward to it, in the dream i mean, because he's quite a talker and laughs about everything, almost everything, but in the dream, he was silent, and it was like pulling teeth just to get yeah out of him. I was feeling bored and disappointed, and wishing mom woulod hurry up and come get me. finally, he says, I'm going to bed, had too much for supper. he told me 4 things he had, but all i can remember is buttered french fries, hee hee hee. Iwas thinking, now i'm going to be all alone in a strange house with nothing to do but be bored and wait. I started thinking how stupid the whole thing was, and I said to him,Bruce, You know, this whole thing is pretty silly, I mean, here you are in Canada, and I live in North Carolina, which is thousands of miles apart, but here we are. and his reply was, see, you do remember what we talked about. About then, I woke up. its so strange to realize I'm having a dream almost right at the end. I don't kinow why I had the dream exactly, but I've heard it said that dreams are a part of the subconscious, so I can guess parts of it. I probably had the dream about him because he's the one I talk to the most, especially on skype or messenger. I priobably had 2 dreams in a row about trying to hold a conversation with someone who was just there in body only, because I've had so many of those frustrating types of conversations, on messenger, quick notes, and onVIPconduit when i'd go in a room and wait for someone to come in to an empty room. I wasn't aware that I dwelt on it long enough after I had extracated myself from those chat experiences, all the same, if dreams are a part of our subconsciious, and reflect our thoughts and feelings, I must've thought enough about it to have those 2 dreams. There are some parts of the second dream I will never figure out, like why Bruce was the total opposite in personthan he is on the computer, and why he and I were the only 2 in the house when I know he has a wife and children. oh well, so much for strange dreams, which is what this topic is about, lol.
wonderwoman
Hi.
I also have lots of strange dreams.
I remember one in particular, it wasn't strange, but it was repetitive for about a week.
I'd start on the steps of this house, and the steps would lead down to the basement of this place.
I've never seen this place before, but in the basement, there was this hall and I remember some rooms with people in them. Some of them had tables and stuff. I remember a door being at the end of the hall, but I'd never go in it.
To this day, I wonder what was in that door. lol.
I remember enought about that house that I can turn it into an adventure game.
I don't know what it was about that house, but it seamed familiar.
yeah sometimes our brains just pick things out of our subconscious in some way, maybe you've been in that house perhaps when you were a child and the dream might be your subconscious way of trying to remember it, of course, I'm just guessing, but I've had a few reoccurring dreams, not in a long time th ough, like the one i had when i was in that hospital where i had my leg operations. I had this dream that i was floating, and by moving my arms, i could float anyway i wanted to backwards or forwards, right and left. I had it 3 nights running, i willed it to come, and for 3 nights it did, then it stopped coming, and i was so disappointed, I really enjoyed that dream and wish I could have it again.

Hmm. I wonder if you can train yourself to have certain dreams. I remember hearing something about it, but I'm not sure if it's true.
I also wonder why they're so dang real.
I sometimes try to change my dreams from with in it, but most of the time, I never think to do that. Bryan
I think its impossible, you might make a mental note to do it when you're awake, but once you're in the dream, most of the time you don't know its a dream. it's very rare to figure out it is a dream. I wish it were possible to train yourself to have a certain dream. if you could, i'd be havimg that floating dream.

Hi Wonder. The strangest dream I ever had was this:
I was in a library, and these people were Asian or something, and some were sitting at really low tables on the floor. and the librarian handed me a book with all these strange symbols on the front and back covers. Then, I opened the book, and there were formulas and all kinds of weird equations. Then, the librarian handed me the Egyptian Book of the Dead. I tried to undersstand the symbols and formulas and equations in the other book, but I couldn't. That's the strangest dream I ever had. I've never been able to figure out what it meant.
Hi dream lady, we're probably better off not even trying, lol. We'd just keep wondering and never be able to figure it out. I guess you must like to read a l ot and like libraries, but why you'd dream about being handed a book with strange graphic symbols I don't know. As i said, I think i've guessed parts of th edream. I think the reason I had those dreams about trying to hold conversations with people who just weren't really there were because i've had that experience so often, but I don't understand why I didn't have th edreams the exact night i'd tried to talk to them. I'm sure you've probably woke up from a dream and thought, now why in the world did i dream a thing like that?

Well, Wonder last night I dreamed I was wearing a headset, and this voice was speaking through it. I had this plastic glass, and I was using it as a means to communicate. Still, it can't top the one about the library. Nothing can top that one. lol. I've always had strange dreams. lol. I've tried to tell my subconscious I'm not strange, but it doesn't listen. lol.
mine doesn't listen to me either. I tell it i'm not weird, so i shouldn't have weird dreams, but occasionally it will send me the weird dream. most of my dreams when i do remember one just doesn't make sense whatsoever.

My strangest dream happened recently. I can't really remember it right now, but it had something to do with Harry Potter and a cartoon character. All I can remem er is waking up. It was actually a nightmare.
my, that is a strang one, if it had been a nice dream, i'd say you were anextreme fan of harry potter, but if it was a nightmare, maybe not, lol.

Hi Wonder. This last one is a lu lu. I'm at a family get-together, and my two sisters and I get in her truck and drive down the street. We stop off at this flee market or something, and there's all these house shoes and moccasin like things. I buy a wine-colored pair, and we decide to leave and pay the man later.
It gets really strange now.
We go back to her house where another sister of mine is waiting. She's visiting, and we want to say goodbye.
My two sisters get out, and my son's there. I'm doing something in the back with sacks or something, and my sister tells my son to wait for me.
I finish what I'm doing in the back, and I get out. The truck begins to roll by itself down the drive, and I'm screaming at my son to get out of the way. He says he has to save the little kids and the dogs. The truck goes faster and faster, and disappears down the street.
We go in the house, and another relative blames my son for the truck rolling away. I tell this relative it's not his fault, and I say it wouldn't have happened if I hadn't gotten out of the truck.
My sister reassures me it's not my fault. The dream ends when we start looking for the truck. Now, isn't that weird? I woke up in a cold sweat.
Whoa, and I thought mine was weird.
oh my, that is really strange, scratches head. I'm trying to come up with an analysis for that one, but my mind is a total blank.

I had a dream yesterday, that I was learning how to Apparate and Disapparate with my guide dog, and my task was to show up at afriend's house for some sort of party or something. I've been reading too much Harry Potter. lol
wow sounds like a strange dream lol. I've only had that one doggie dream, the one where the dog is chasing after me, and i'm running as hard as i can, then run in to a wall, and there are walls allaround me then, then the dog catches me, and won't let go of my finger.

I've had some strange dreams. One, for example, I was using a braille lite, and it blew up. I've also had repeated dreams that I was in a car, and it was moving by itself.
I also have dreams of flying, going to the moon, and dreams of hanging out with friends. Usually dreams I have are quite nice, but on the ocasional dreams I have of loved ones dying, that can be so sad.
i'm only posting here because the dream i had early this morning was so weird and different than my usual dream style. wish i could remember the part of psychology class in college where we studied dreams and their meanings. that was by far my favorite class and part of the class.
anyway, the dream. i'll leave names out so as not to embarrass myself here. but i had gone to meet a zone member. problem is throughout the whole dream he kept changing in appearance and voice to different zone members. his name always stayed the same though. i know not a lot of detail, but the dream was totally pg rated for those who are getting different ideas in their head. it was weird for me because people don't usually change like that in my dreams. and some of the people, this person changed into were people i honestly hope i never meet in my life. um yeah, i don't even know if any of this makes sense. going back to studying now.
Hello, last night I dreamed I was in a swimming competition, there were all these people cheering at me. There were also barriers in the pool yet I was moving very fast. Someone told me that I was doing very well. Someone in the dream told me to go to this woman and she told me not to worry about the barriers because a teacher at my school had removed them. A girl who was in my class was also there and we could take all day. I was swimming again then I woke up. I apologise for all the detail.
Well, I've had some good and bad dreams of all types. I've had dreams of going out to eat, going shopping, and I've had repeated dreams of being in outer space.
Yeah, the dreams about being in outer space are the weirdest ones, IMO. I have those sometimes, and there always seems to be this other-worldly music playing during them. for me, anyway.
Well, I had a dream a few nights ago. In the dream, I was cleaning my cell phone and accidentally dropped it into a tub of water. After a few days, the phone stopped working and I had to get another one.
I've had reoccuring dreams when out of nowhere, some stranger would come and grab me. These people only did it when I was alone and it was quiet. I still have these dreams. I had a dream a few years ago where this woman appeared out of nowhere in my bathroom in the middle of the night. She seemed nice at first. We got to know each other. Later, I showed her my room, and we had a nice time. Later, while I was watching tv, The woman called my name. I came to see what she wanted. Then, all of a sudden, she tried to grab me. We chased each other for several minutes, and all of a sudden, she found me and pinned me down. That's how these dreams end. Every time I have these dreams, I'd wake up in a cold sweat. Because of these dreams, I never liked being alone in the quiet, especially at night.
God, I had some bloody strange dreams as well, mainly when I was little and we lived in Sunbury-on-Thames, on the outskirts of West London. I was (and still am) incredibly musical, in fact, I'm very surprised I never followed in Aled Jones's footsteps, became a choirgirl soprano in my local church, St Mary's, released quite a few albums, presented various radio shows and became dead famous, but there we are, it didn't happen. Back to the dreams then. They all had musical parts, but some were really horrible, frightening musical things. For instance, in one of my dreams, I was in my Grandparents old house, a lovely four-bedroom property with very large back and front gardens and I was in my Grandparents bedroom, crouching between Gran's dressing table and the wardrobe playing hide and seek, both my Grandparents were looking all over the house for me, when I fet the whole house, give an almighty lurch forwards as if it were trying to tip forwards and their Grandfather clock downstairs in the hall and incidentally still in full working order today, nearly 22 years later, started to chime the hour just before the house started rocking backwards and forwards like that. I heard my Grandad exclaim in surprise just outside the bedroom door, Gran burst in to the room and scooping me up before I was lost in the wreckage of the fallen house. I just knew we were all going to die, because the house would just crumble and fall to bits while we were all upstairs and worst of all, on each lurching movement, the clock striking, one, two, three... then the dream ended, thank god. I'm still not overkeen on that clock and Gran said I used to get quite nervous when the clock struck the hour, and number 3 is my least favourite number to this day, probably because of that dream. Another dream I had, also in my Grandparents old house, was just before the clock was due to strike the hour, again 3:00, I had just come through from the living room to see what my Grandparents were doing in the kitchen probably, then the clock started again to strike three, but this time, when the Westminster chimes had finished and the clock was striking three, Gran counted out loud: 'one, two, three... but almost the moment Gran started to say three, this invisible arm linked through mine and I disapparated, from where I'd been standing just seconds before, my hand on one side of the decorative archway that served as the kitchen doorway, back in to bed again. Phew! Another reason why I H A T E, number 3 in any shape, form, sound or whatever, still. I don't think I'd even live in a number 3 house either.
Jen.
I had a strange dream three weeks ago before my grand mother passed away. It felt so real. The dream was telling me that she already died, but at that time, she was still alive. I think that dream served as a warning that she's about to die. Nah, i don't enjoy having dreams like that. It's kind of scary in a way. It felt so real.
I have a whole lot of dreams about loved ones dying or them about to die.
I had a dream a few nights ago where I went out to eat with a friend I met online. I had a dream last night, that same friend called me. I don't think that's strange, but having 2 dreams of 1 friend that close is odd. I have reoccuring dreams of going to see my best friend in new york. I wish these dreams were real!
A couple nights ago, I had one of the worst dreams I've ever had. In the dream, I was using my computer. The computer locked up and made the loudest noise! I turned it off with the power button, and rebooted. When the computer came back on, a dialog box popped up asking me if I was sure I wanted to reformat my harddrive. I clicked no, and this strange windows setup program came up. It acted like windows needed to be reinstalled. Strangely enough, in the middle of the installation, I got a warning saying that my harddrive will now be reformatted. I clicked the cancel button in the dialog box, but that didn't work. So, I turned the computer off. When I turned it on again, it was too late! The harddrive was totally wiped out and all data was lost! That dream was so real! It woke me up! It took me a minute to realize it was a dream. I think that my friend telling me that her harddrive was reformatted caused the dream. The next night, the dream continued. While not being as bad as the dream before, in the dream, mom found out that my computer's harddrive was reformatted. She was so mad! That's as far as I can remember in that dream. Those dreams were so scary that I wouldn't use the computer for most of the day.
